Biography

        Vera was born and raised in Prague. In 1979, she left communist Czechoslovakia and requested political asylum in Germany. She married and emigrated to the US three years later, initially settling down in Chicago where her two sons were born. After eight years, she moved to the Seattle area because its outdoor lifestyle and climate were more amenable to a way of life she had been  missing. 
       Once her children didn't need her attention quite as much, she returned to her love of drawing, sculpturing and short story writing.
